Sail days give a boost to team work

The Australian Newspaper May 7 2004

A NEW MICE (Meeting, Incentives, Conventions and Exhibitions) product in Victoria is the Dockland Sailing School , operating out of Victoria Harbour at The Melbourne Docklands.

Fun two to four hour "hands-on " sailing or fully catered structured sailing based programs anywhere around Port Phillip Bay are now offered by Dockland Sailing School.

Along side an Australian Yachting Federation accredited instructor, conference and incentive customers not only get an insight into sailing and a different view of the city from Docklands , Victoria Harbour, Hobson's Bay or Port Phillip Bay , they actually get to sail and steer the yachts themselves.

Loose, comfortable clothing, white or clear soled shoes, plus a small bag with sun cream, hat, 'sunnies', a sweater or windbreaker and water bottle are the essential sailing gear

Chief Instructor Tony Legg - who runs an associated corporate leadership and incentive sailing program SEA Leggs -said: "That's all they need as we provide the yacht, instructors, the water, the fresh air, a different view of Melbourne, the action and, on most occasions, the breeze.

Dockland Sailing School also supplies motivational leaders and event catering as required. For the corporate market, events range from just learning to sail and working as a team with the 'Day on the Bay' program, through to 'Team against - Team' racing, where two or more identical yachts race against each other.

The school uses appropriate, yachts for the skill level sought and the number of participants. Yachts range from a two to three person off-the-beach dinghy, up to a 10 metre catamaran capable of carrying up 20 participants.
